Name: Justin Perry (call me JP though)
Age: 20
Hometown: Lake Placid, NY
Meathead Films appeared in: Head for the Hills
Sponsors: Fischer, Ski The East (i'd sure like some more though)
Competition Results (skiing or nonskiing): In high school I had a bunch of top 10 finishes which included a 4th and 6th place finishes at Junior Olympics in slope and pipe, as well as I got 6th in pipe at 06' VTO. Last season I won a couple games of "S.K.I" and "S.H.R.E.D." with friends. I'm not really the competitive type though.
Home Resort: Whiteface Mountain
Now Residing: Wilmington, NY
Favorite Moment from last winter: Skiing straight down "Wilderness" at Whiteface with untouched, waist deep pow on it. I was choking on the fluffy stuff with a smile on my face the whole way down.
When I’m not shredding gnar, I’m (hobbies): playing with devil stix, golfing, kickin' back on a boat some where, long boarding on hills in Placid, or if its crappy out, I'm playing video games. Basically if I'm not shredding gnar then its summer time.
Skiing Hero: JP Auclair. However, I want to give credit to my first ski hero. He was the first guy that I ever saw in movies, and was like, "Holy shit! This guy charges on everything!" His name is Scott Schmitt. Do some research if you don't know who he is.
Non-Skiing Hero: Bob Marley.
Favorite trick or maneuver: Cork 540, I don't care what grab. That trick is fun!
Favorite Eastern ski location: Whiteface.
Best part about East Coast skiing is: The Passion. East Coast locals are out there every day regardless of the ice-fest, or hurricane force winds, or torrential downpours of rain that might be going on that day.
Worst part about East Coast skiing is: the ice-fests, and the hurricane force winds, and the torrential downpours of rain that might be going on any given day.
The best ski style is: when everything is smooth and stomped. I don't feel that tricks even need to be tech. Just smooth and stomped. (notice i didn't say afterbanged).
Hidden talent: I can stay submerged under water for a little more than minute. When i was 10, I used this skill to freak my parents out. When I was 13, I used this skill to check out girls. Now, I use this skill at the aerial jumping complex in lake placid to dive for skis at the bottom of the pool with my ski boots, helmet and sometimes, life jacket still on.
Inner Animal: I'd like to say that I'm a lion. Lions are pretty bad ass. But others will probably say that I'm more of a house cat. Whatever, that just means that I have 9 lives, I can always land on my feet, and I'm good at cuddling.
What makes you a Meathead?
Good spirited personality, brainless sacrifice, patience, and optimism. Persistence. And I'd like to think that im creative.
And finally, take this space to write something witty, creative, funny, or let the people know why you rule:
20 years of my life have past with many enjoyable memories. From my life experiences, I would like to offer a small bit of advice which is simply to "Live For Fun!"
