With the creation of this year’s movie, “Snow Gods,” we knew we wanted something fresh and unique on the cover. A design that would help it stand out from the other titles on the shelf.
Meathead Films hired art and graphic wizard, Cade Beaulieu from Portland, ME to get the job done.
Cade has been an integral part of Meathead design concepts from the very beginning. The brainchild behind Meathead Films’ infamous “steak man” logo, Cade has helped with various projects over the past several years. He created the “Snow Gods” title logo earlier this past summer so we knew our ideas were on the same page.
The concept for the cover art was to make a completely hand drawn piece. We wanted a scene reminiscent of the Monty Python movie covers, something that captured the theme of the movie and the character of the Meatheads.
In just two weeks time, Cade delivered his final piece but not until many copies and ideas were exchanged back and forth from Portland and Burlington.
What started out as simple chicken scratch (see our first sketch) ended in a masterpiece that represents the movie perfectly.
A huge thanks goes out to Cade for his craftsmanship and dedication to the project. You can see the process of how the cover was made by viewing the illustrations below. Enjoy!
