Yo! What up everyone? I’m answering these questions from the hot hot city of Istanbul, Turkey. I'm going to post and in-depth article about my trip in the future cause I have so much to talk about. But in the mean time, here's a fact you mıght enjoy: mullets are the coolest haırcut ın turkey for young men!
How is it that you always land on your feet?
Must be that I got so tired of landing on my head as a child.Which one of Andy Parry’s weird rail maneuvers is your favorite?
My favorite rail maneuver that Andy parry does is the one where he stands up on the bar table and wraps his legs around the pole like Gumby. I think its called the hippy killer, but it straight kills my heart.
Can you beat up your brother, Ahmet, now that you’re bigger?
We just team up on others. Your question is unacceptable and is asking for a quarrel between 2 of the baddest mothas to hit skiing.Who’s better on the tramp, you or Ross?
Oh I’m better on the tramps if yanadadamean. But as for them trampolines...he’s got me on those double flippers but I can do all the non-double flip stuff, some of which he can’t do. I can also do bed tricks. But I’m not out here to break the peace.Describe the perils of being a diehard skier and living in central New York…
As rap superstar Ice Cube says: every hoods the same. Being a diehard skier and living in WESTERN new York, not central New York, we aint no pussıes like CNY, we be a different breed. It is the same as being diehard in MN, WI, MI, West Virginia, PA, and other bad places. I guess what it has done is build an ability for me to make the most of anything I can find. As long as I’m on snow I’m happy, hell even when I’m not on snow I’m happy. It’s hard to get the exposure and hard to film when you have to travel so far to get decent things. Practicing for competitions is out of the question. I just show up at comps and ski the course for 45 minutes and that’s my practice. I can’t ride a decent park like other kids in major competitions. Another thing is that I really love skiing powder but I hardly get the chance. I have a car now and really want to change that next year, drive up to New England when storms are brewing so I can ski some fresh. What was your greatest accomplishment this past season?
I had a lot of great competition finishes this year. 3rd in VTO slope, a couple of halfpipe wins and stuff. I got invited to the NS West Coast Session in Oregon, which also made me happy. I was able to film more with the Meatheads this year which was great but next year I'll hopefully film a ton more. But I think my greatest accomplishment this year was learning how to front flip. It just adds a totally new aspect to skiing for me. You can do them off anything, anywhere and anytime. It’s incredible, it’s basically the trick that adds to whip cream to the top of my western New York ice cream that is always so melted.Favorite moment of the past season in which Erik Olson was also there…
I traveled a lot with Erik Olson this year, he was basically my dad and Shane (the filmer) was my mom. They were there for my first words, my first steps and I was there for Erik's first helicopter ride! That wasn’t my favorite moment but it was the scariest and most memorable moment of my life with Erik Olson to hear that he got mercy flighted off the mountain at Squaw. My favorite moment though is hard to pick out, we stood on the podiums together like 23 gazillion times, we ate ice cream together like 23 gazillion times 5, we B. Jammed 24/7, I tricked him into watching meat spin...all so great. I just really enjoyed skiing along with him when we were filming with Meatheads.
Word is you’re a wicked good student. Are you the smartest guy in school?
Hmmmm this question is a battle of modesty and my supreme intelligence. Overall I got it on lock down. I hope I’m not telling a lie, but I believe I have common sense, book smarts and a life, which is a great combination. I Know kids that are book smart but dumb as Evan Bogart, if you can read this Evan (which I’m sure you prolly can't), I’m only joking. But I do have the highest GPA in my class. You spun an 810 off a rail this year. That was pretty extraordinary. Discuss…
Well its been done before by great warriors so I won't take too much pride in it, but if you insist..........it was a cold snowy day in mid April. All the young lads were out for the Meatheads photo shoot. A great session went down on the 15ft rail to 40ft gap of doom, but with the gods of snow persisting and growing angrier, many of the lads called it quits. But I persisted with the strength of 100 Olson’s and intensity of 3 Nicks Lyons. I worked my way up from 90 to 630, and then with the stamina of a Meathead I hit the rail one last time in hyper speed and boosted an 810. Enough with the gay epic. It was cool though, I never had the chance to hit something 810able and it felt good. It wasn’t the prettiest thing but who cares it was fun. The setup, with such a short rail made 810 hard because it lacked setup time. What is an easy trick that you’re not good at?
I cant spin more than sw right 5 with a grab on a good day unless I blender it which I will not do. I am disgusted with myself. What is the best movie you saw in a theater this past year?
Dude I don’t even think I've been to the theater in the past year. Pretty lame eh?Is B. Jams ‘07 your favorite DVD movie?
Dude is that even a question!??? How can it not! B. Jams 07 is my Juliet and I am Romeo, only not super extreme. But watch out! B jams 08 will be off the hook! I hear your going to have to be 37 to watch it because it’s so crazy.
What is the last book you finished? Was it good?
The last book I finished was Siddhartha, which I had to read for school. It was all right, but if B Jams 07 were in book form, it would totally blow it away. How much do you think Rooster can bench press?
How much can God bench press? I don’t think there’s a limit.Plans for the upcoming season?
I want to go out to Colorado a bit and ski some nice parks in the early season to practice for the US Open, but mostly spend a lot more time filming with Meatheads to put together a real dirty segment.Any Shoutouts?
The whole NY crew, Sponsors and extra big thanks to Jason Levinthal at LINE skis, my momma, extra large bear hugs to Geoff and Rooster at Meathead headquarters and most importantly the big man watching out for me.Comments
