Pennsylvania Polka: Adventures at Blue Mtn.

We have been meaning to film in Pennsylvania for several years now. Just needed the right motivation to get down there...

Got a call from Caleb Hamilton of SnowGrind in early February. Caleb helped build and design Blue Mtn's newest rails, boxes, and general park layout for 2009. He quickly directed me to his blog site which feature pics of all the unique stuff they had up in their park this season and it definitely sparked our interest.

Since we had three LINE athletes flying in to film from the west coast and looking for cheap flights, we scheduled it out to meet everyone in Philly and session Blue Mtn. for a few days before heading back up north.

Tagging along for the trip down would be myself, Rooster, our new filmer: Ben Cormier, and a new female addition to the Meat roster: Jen Crichton. An 8 hr. drive brought us down to the greatery Philadelphia area just after Valentines day to pick up Will Wesson, Andy Parry, and newbie to East Coast skiing - Garrett Russell.

Another 1.5 hrs. got us to our hotel near Blue Mtn. around 1 a.m. A long day of traveling for everyone to say the least. Our two days filming and skiing at Blue were more than we expected. For one, the park was sick! Top to bottom, UNIQUE rails and boxes, fun layout and it was sunny both days so the riding was spring corn. The Meatheads got creative with railslides, wormturns, noseblocks, tappity taps, handplants and wallrides while skiing with some rad local rippers and enjoying the Pennsylvania mountain air!

The final night we celebrated our dirty south tour (and Garrett's birthday) with some world class tubing on Blue Mtn's celebrated hills. Scope the new movie WILD STALLIONS for the Blue Mtn. segment: rad park tricks, tubing, and lots of one piece suits...
