For the first time ever, we're launching a webisode series for our latest film project. Each of the 12 episodes, called “2 minute work outs,” will provide a brief sneak peak into our upcoming movie titled “work it out,” presented by none other than Subaru of New England. The 2-3 minute online edits will feature behind-the-scenes clips in chronological order from this past winter’s production. Viewers will witness the Meathead crew deal with inconsistent weather, persistent police, travels abroad in Japan, and as always, the search for the next great ski adventure.
Additionally, we're thrilled to announce that we’ve partnered with ESPN.com/Action to exclusively host the content for the weekly webisodes. Each episode will be launched on ESPN.com/Action every Monday at 12 noon EST, and is immediately available for embedding on other websites. With 12 episodes, the series finale will air just before the official DVD release of “work it out” is unleashed in September 2010.
Episode 1:
With the first snowfall of the season droping north of the border, this introductory episode of “2 minute work outs” kicks off with a December urban trip through frigid Quebec. Meathead Films met up with gracious host Cedric TF in his hometown of Trois-Rivieres for 3 days of city exploration alongside Andy Parry and Will Wesson.
After the holidays, LJ Strenio went to work conquering some Burlington, VT urban features that have been on the Meathead radar for years. Finally, the right snow conditions, time of day (some sessions started in the pre-dawn hours in order to elude authority), and of course LJ’s ridiculous talent, all came together to bag some clutch footage for the new flick “work it out.”
Episode 2:
The Meathead backcountry crew started the new decade shredding a generous Nor’easter storm that blanketed the region with 30”. Tony Rossi, Ben Leoni and Asia Magriby braved the woods and winds of Jay Peak, VT, carefully navigating thin cover in the glades.
Meanwhile, up in Sugarloaf, ME a pre-dawn cat ride dropped Dan Marion, Stacey Rachdorf and the McDermott brothers on top of the mountain for first tracks hunting. After airing off some boulders and skiing whatever freshies they could find, the guys ended up “misdirected” for 3 hours in the Maine backcountry.
