"Epoch" is like no other movie you've ever seen. It is Meathead Films' first documentary and focuses on backcountry skiing, both past and present, on five of the highest mountains in the Northern Appalachians: Mt. Greylock, MA Mt. Washington, NH Mt. Marcy, NY Mt. Mansfield, VT Katahdin, ME "Epoch" takes the viewer on a facinating and breathtaking tour through five states as the Meathead crew climbs and skis the highest mountain in each. Discover the history behind the settling, hiking, and early skiing on all the peaks. Find out what it meant to be a skier on the East Coast before the rope tow and the ski lift. See the adventure of a lifetime as seven friends set out to explore some of the East's most remote and legendary backcountry locations. "Epoch" is totally unique in that it combines a present-day, season-long skiing expedition with fascinating history. Meathead Films worked with museums, colleges, libraries, historical societies and both state and national parks to bring the viewer the most wide-ranging and comprehensive movie about Northeastern hiking and skiing ever created! With the help of historical experts, "Epoch" even brings to light new facts concerning some of these peak's first ski descents. Black and white photographs, lithographs, paintings, drawings, historic maps, archival film footage, 3-D topographic animations, aerial film, digital footage, 35mm still photos, Super 8mm film, and digital head cams are all combined into tightly edited and thoughtfully narrated movie that you'll never forget.
