Subaru of New England

sne_black.jpg

Subaru of New England is our presenting sponsor. They provide Meathead Films with a Subaru Outback to meet our many transportation needs while on the movie tour and filming throughout the season.

There is obviously a reason why you see so many Subaru's in New England. They get great gas mileage for an all-wheel drive vehicle and handle extremely well in the snow. Meathead Films has used Subaru's for several years to travel to and from the mountains, even before we had the sponsorship. The car has delivered us safely every time, even when we drove all night through the biggest snowstorms of the year (to Mt. Greylock, MA, in January 2005 comes to mind). It allowed us be at the right place at the right time to score the deepest powder days of the season.

We are excited to be working closely with a sponsor that caters to the Eastern skier and manufacturers a product that can consistently handle the toughest New England weather.

Nokian Tyres

nokian_logo.jpg

Based out of Finland, Nokian knows winter.  The company built the word's first winter tire in 1934 and has been innovating and perfecting designs ever since.  From the rugged and much loved Hakkapelliitta tire in the deepest snow to the sporty Z series in the summer, Nokian has mastered the art of keeping cars connected to the road no matter the conditions.

Nokian Tyres is also the most environmentally friendly tire company on the planet.  Not just a few models of their tires, but every Nokian Tyre is produced under rigorous environmental standards that are way beyond other competitors.  No toxic chemicals are used in the tires and the company prides itself on the use of low-aromatic oils and renewables such as canola oil.  Get some Nokian's on your vehicle this winter and never fear the snowy roads again.

Stowe Mountain Resort

stowe_logo_trim.jpg It's impossible to say too much about Stowe. Quite simply, it is the greatest place to ski or ride on the East Coast. Hands down, Stowe has it all.

Stowe has been Meathead Films' home mountain for the past six years. Located on Mt. Mansfield, Vermont's highest peak, Stowe has a vertical drop of 2,360 ft and an average snowfall of 333 inches. Fast lifts give you access to huge amount of terrain including their famous glades, steep groomers and bumps, and top-to-bottom terrain parks.

Make sure to check out the featured segments on Stowe in our movies, something that we include every year. Meathead Films also produces an annual Stowe movie as part of the Stowked series.  Check out all the Stowked movies on the Stowe website.  Click here to learn about their season pass programs or visit them at:

Kombi

kombilogo.jpg

Kombi has been providing our gloves, mittens, and base layers since 2004. All of their products have stood up to our rigorous beatings and kept our skiing (and filming, photographing, shoveling, driving) hands in perfect shape in order to take full advantage of apres ski beverages. The signature glove of Meathead Films is the "Captain America." Full of leather, full of American pride, these gloves make quite a statement on the hill. Make sure to check out their full line on their website:

GORE-TEX

logo_goretex.jpg GORE-TEX is more than a brand… it is THE brand in outerwear protection from the elements.  The waterproof, breathable fabric of GORE-TEX® was introduced to the public in 1978 and has since grown to become the standard against which all other outerwear fabrics are measured.

GORE-TEX has a Guaranteed to Keep You Dry® promise that they stand behind unconditionally.  “No liquid from the outside will get to you on the inside” as their website (gore-tex.com) states and this works out quite well for the Meatheads, since we’re always slogging it out in a mix of snow/ sleet/ rain/ fog and generally miserable weather conditions.  Kombi gloves partners with GORE-TEX on many of their glove models.

LINE

line_logo_trim.jpg

LINE skis has their homegrown roots in the East just like us. Tired of straight, stiff skis, Jason Levinthal began creating twin tipped ski boards in his parents Buffalo, NY garage in 1995. After years of experimenting, testing and just plain hard work, LINE has now become the symbol of progression and innovation in the world of skiing. LINE can be credited with the first "real" twin tip ski (equal height tip and tail) and the first fat twin tip for powder. The 2008 skis include everything from a butter-zoned park ski (the Invader) to a hard chargin' backcountry model (the Prophet) to ground-breaking super soft powder boards (the EP Pro). Meathead Films used LINE skis to conquer every type of mountain and urban terrain while filming for Wild Stallions. Choose LINE... because skiing needs a future.

Clif Bar

clifbar_logo.jpg Clif Bars keep us going. Though steaks and hamburgers might be our leisure meal of choice, it's Clif Bars that power us on the road and during long days in the mountains. Clif Bars are made from organic ingredients and provide sustained energy in 14 different flavors. Our favorite? Probably Cool Mint Chocolate or Crunchy Peanut Butter. Clif Bars taste ridiculously good and never freeze when we're skiing. We throw a bar in our pocket whenever we travel into the backcountry. Check their in-depth site for more info:
